Glad to Be Here!
I am so excited to be a part of GenYNetworking.com! This is such a timely and important topic amidst one of the toughest job markets this country has ever faced. I’m looking forward to discussing ways to make networking a part of your daily routine, and to busting a few myths that you may have heard about it.
Just for a little background about me, I run a small digital marketing consultancy called Aha! Media that is based in Chicago. I am always working on pretty cool projects, and thanks to one of my clients, I sometimes get great deals or even free Cubs tickets to give away on Twitter, so be sure to check out @GradtoGreat. For the most part though, I’m usually writing books for recent college graduates about what they can expect to face in their job search and how to set the groundwork for a successful, but most of all fulfilling, career. My latest book, Some Assembly Required: A Networking Guide for Graduates, will be out May 1st. My co-author, Thom Singer, is one of the top Toastmasters speakers in the country and he’s written numerous books on the topic of networking. Once in awhile, he may drop by to give us a few tips.
I love to hear from recent grads, especially those with interest in journalism (I used to work in TV news), marketing & communications, entrepreneurship, project management & web development, and nonprofits. I look forward to stopping by here every week and networking with you all!
